Industrial 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing Intern
About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Industrial 3D Printing – Additive Manufacturing Intern. This role provides exposure to AM production, engineering services, quality control, DfAM innovation projects, machine/material validation, and customer-facing AM operations. This internship may be a full-year co-op (approx. 42 weeks) or semester-based (12–16 weeks). Learning Outcomes Gain hands-on experience in industrial additive manufacturing. Develop engineering, production, and process documentation skills. Learn quality control and inspection techniques for AM environments. Engage in real-world DfAM, prototyping, and validation activities.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or Graduate Student at North Carolina State University (Required).
- Majoring in Industrial Design or Mechanical Engineering (Preferred).
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Nice To Haves
- Coursework with CAD and 3D printing technologies strongly preferred.
- Experience in lab or shop environments where chemicals are handled is helpful.
- Familiarity with programming languages is a plus.
