About The Position

Position Summary: Repair, install, adjust, or maintain industrial production and processing machinery to keep the equipment and the facilities in compliance with regulations, certification specifications, and with minimal down time to meet production goals. Work Schedules: 2nd shift role with rotating weekend shifts, final hours TBD  (Overtime may be required)

Requirements

  • Must have a mechanical knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance; knowledge of engineering and technology, production and processing including quality control, costs, and raw materials.
  • Must have working knowledge of mathematics and their applications.
  • Must be skilled in equipment maintenance, repairs, operation monitoring, troubleshooting, controlling operations of equipment or systems, quality control analysis, critical thinking, and equipment selection.
  • Must have problem sensitivity and information ordering skills.
  • 2 years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industries.
  • English Language — Must be able to read and comprehend detailed instructions, effectively communicate highly technical concepts and terms in writing and in conversation
  • Basic computer skills including experience with Microsoft® Windows®, Microsoft Office programs and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Software)
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs. or more.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, crawl, or stoop. Must have arm-hand steadiness, manual and finger dexterity, control precision, multi-limb coordination, reaction time.
  • Specific sensing abilities required by this job include near vision and hearing sensitivity.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.
  • Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment.
  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices.
  • Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.
  • Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.
  • Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.
  • Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.
  • Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Record parts or materials used and order or requisition new parts or materials as necessary. Record repairs and maintenance performed.
  • Study blueprints or manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.
  • Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, or assemble new equipment.
  • Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery. Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators.
  • Perform duties safely and to report unsafe conditions or actions.
  • Assists in other duties as needed and directed.
