About The Position

Otis is looking for a forward-thinking Industry 4.0 Manufacturing Systems Engineer to join our team. This role involves leveraging advanced technologies such as IoT, AI, and automation to optimize manufacturing processes and drive innovation. The ideal candidate will have experience in both IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) environments. On a typical day you will: Create and Optimize: Develop and enhance manufacturing automation, Industry 4.0 processes, and equipment/automation improvements. Ensure Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) robustness in all phases. Project Management: Manage a portfolio of Industry 4.0 projects from inception to phase out, including product launch and support. Process Flow Management: Oversee process flows and resolve issues with existing products across cross-functional production teams. Support Roadmap: Contribute to the Industry 4.0 roadmap, goals, and related metrics. Lead Discussions: Facilitate discussions with internal customers or suppliers focused on Industry 4.0 initiatives. Benchmarking: Benchmark best practices across sites and share lessons learned. Communication: Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills to support and lead discussions on Industry 4.0 topics. Data Analysis: Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics to reduce defective material and process-stop occurrences. Implement long-term, permanent solutions. Enhancement: Continuously improve current Industry 4.0 solutions while exploring new opportunities. Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to implement solutions for process efficiencies and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; Engineering degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of manufacturing experience in a factory setting
  • Given the nature of the position, applicants must have authorization to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • MS in engineering with 5+ years in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, or 2+ years with an advanced STEM degree
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory principles, technologies, and techniques, including machine design and process data analytics
  • Advanced skills with ERP, MES, PLM, Quality management, warehouse management, and Industry 4.0 systems
  • SCADA experience
  • Ability to design and develop smart manufacturing systems that integrate with existing processes
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure successful technology deployment
  • Knowledge of project management tools like MS Project, Click Up, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps, and Monday
  • Proficient with PowerBi is preferred
  • Facilitation of IT and OT systems integration for seamless data flow and efficiency
  • Experience in Agile Project Management
  • Previous lean or Six Sigma certification with proven results
  • Experience in high mix/low volume manufacturing environments
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, effective across all organizational levels
  • Proven ability to develop and strengthen customer relationships
