About The Position

The Learning Experience – Hell’s Kitchen is seeking a nurturing and experienced Infant Lead Teacher to lead one of our infant classrooms. This role is ideal for an early childhood educator who is passionate about responsive caregiving, consistent routines, and supporting infants through their earliest developmental milestones. Our infant program focuses on safety, connection, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a calm, structured environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education preferred, or
CDA credential (completed or in progress)
Experience working in an infant classroom strongly preferred
Strong understanding of infant development and responsive caregiving
CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Ability to meet all New York City childcare licensing and background requirements

Responsibilities

Lead an infant classroom in a safe, warm, and developmentally appropriate setting
Implement daily activities aligned with The Learning Experience curriculum and infant development standards
Support individualized routines including feeding, diapering, rest time, and sensory play
Create a nurturing environment that supports social, emotional, and physical development
Supervise and guide assistant teachers to maintain classroom consistency and quality
Observe and document developmental milestones and daily activities
Build strong, trusting relationships with families through ongoing communication
Maintain compliance with New York City Department of Health licensing requirements and center policies
