About The Position

About the Position: Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, this position develops, coordinates, and carries out daily activities related to infection control surveillance, staff education, and employee health services. Responsibilities include participating in orientation and ongoing education programs, serving on committees, engaging with professional organizations, and supporting special projects as assigned. Key duties include developing and maintaining an employee health program; tracking and managing vaccination and immunization records; providing care and follow-up for employees with routine health needs, occupational exposures, or work-related injuries; and conducting outbreak investigations. The role is responsible for preventing and controlling healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) while promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all staff. This position provides support to Griffin Memorial Hospital and two nearby facilities, ensuring consistent practices and standards across all locations.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma license as a registered nurse as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing
  • Bachelor’s in Nursing and one year of professional nursing experience; OR Associate in Nursing and two years of professional nursing experience; OR Associate in Nursing and three years of LPN experience in psychiatric nursing.
  • Must have relevant education, training, experience and/or certification by the Board of Infection Control.
  • Must possess a strong commitment to patient well-being and safety
  • Must believe that recovery is possible!
  • Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.
