The Information Technology/Assurance Specialist SME will serve at a Program Office (PO) as an Information Technology Support and Information System Integration Specialist (ITS2IS). Within broad general guidance, the Specialist will independently define, assist, advise, or guide issue resolution or projects by employing highly specialized knowledge or experience to anticipate problems, conceptualize guiding strategic principles, and identify adaptable technologies to solve highly challenging or complex problems.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in art, Science, or Engineering (MA/MS/ME). Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 15+ years of related IT experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a SAP and/or SCI environment during the past 5 years
  • Eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information
  • Must be DoD 8140.01 certified. SecurityX / CASP+, CCNP, CCSP, FITSP-O, GFACT, or equivalent
  • Active and valid driver’s license
  • Active TS/SCI clearance, willingness to submit to a counterintelligence polygraph

  • CISSP certification is preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2019/ 2022/2025 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022/2026, and Microsoft Windows 11 operating systems (OS) administration (AD) and associated requirements
  • Expertise in LAN and WAN technologies, including routers, switches, and communication security (COMSEC) devices, and integration
  • Must have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and effectively interact with numerous DoD, military, civilian, and contractor personnel and industry partners
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) productivity software
  • Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, and initiative, requiring minimal supervision

Responsibilities

  • Support the existing local (LAN) and wide-area network (WAN), including the addition of nodes from development through implementation and sustainment, providing daily maintenance and troubleshooting for all systems.
  • Serve as the information technology support specialist with responsibility for administering the PO’s network system administration and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure maintenance functions.
  • Support operational servers and applications, including hardware and software problem resolutions.
  • Provide Program Managers (PM) information to make decisions on future development, upgrade, implementation, testing, installation, and operation of enterprise architectural solutions for networks and IT systems performing compartmentalized business.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to PO personnel.
  • Serve as an information system capability integrator with responsibility for implementing and integrating new requirements, as required.
  • Advise and provide cybersecurity support to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and PMs.
  • Support studies on cyber efforts
  • Identify security risks and develop and promulgate solutions to integrate security solutions into the design, development, configuration, integration, and management of current and future PO networks and IT systems.
  • Perform a comprehensive evaluation of the technical and non-technical security features of external site IT systems.
  • Analyze PO network and IT system risks and provide the Director/PM/ISSM and Security Controls Accessor (SCA) with information to make accreditation decisions.
  • Make technical judgments of PO IT systems' compliance with stated requirements, identifying and assessing the risks associated with operating the IT system and supporting the certification/accreditation process for systems under the organization’s purview.
  • Maintain network and standalone servers, workstations, network access, Security Monitoring Systems and system documentation as required
  • Analyze and troubleshoot system anomalies to ensure optimum performance
  • Prepare systems for operational use and support operational tests
  • Identify IT vulnerabilities and implement countermeasures
  • Ensure IT systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and practices
  • Perform VTC System setup, administration, and configuration as needed
  • Provide network direct client support
  • Provide account creations, modifications, & deletions in Active Directory (AD)
  • Provide direct multi-level Help Desk support & troubleshooting of all hardware and software
  • Perform Hardware/Software System Configuration, upgrades, and modifications
  • Provide desktop and laptop configuration and support
  • Other duties as assigned
