Infrastructure Project Manager
About The Position
Our TEKsystems' Client is seeking Infrastructure / Construction IT Project Managers to lead the IT work associated with hospital construction, renovation, and expansion projects. These PMs will manage multiple concurrent IT infrastructure projects, ensuring that all networking, cabling, telephony, field services, and clinical system requirements (including Epic) are delivered on time and aligned with construction timelines. The role requires strong coordination across multiple PMOs, including Facilities, Construction, Hospital PMOs, Enterprise PMO, and various IT teams. PMs must manage project plans, risks, issues, and timelines within ServiceNow SPM/PPM, providing clear weekly updates and maintaining all project documentation in the system. Ideal candidates bring solid IT infrastructure knowledge, strong project management fundamentals, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, low‑maturity, high‑change environment. They must be detail‑oriented, methodical, and capable of stepping into active projects already underway. This is a hybrid Houston role, requiring onsite work 1–2 days a week.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components: Cabling, Networking, Telephony, Field services, Infrastructure device deployment, EHR (Epic) technical dependencies
- Experience supporting construction or facilities-driven IT projects.
- 5+ years managing IT infrastructure or construction-related IT projects.
- Strong multi-project management capabilities.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow SPM/PPM for project management.
- Strong RAID management, scope control, and schedule management.
- Highly detail-oriented, thorough, and methodical.
- Comfortable jumping into in-flight projects already in motion.
- Able to operate effectively in low-maturity, high-change environments.
- Clear communicator with strong executive presence.
- Ability to collaborate across multiple PMOs and stakeholder groups.
- Strong facilitator with the ability to influence without authority.
