About The Position
Our site near Culpeper, VA, located in beautiful rural Orange County (approximately 1.5 hours from Washington, DC), is growing! This site serves as our center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development, as well as high‑complexity production programs. We are seeking a Receiving Inspector to join our team at our Culpeper, VA, location. Essential Functions: Under general supervision, an Inspector B applies quality assurance concepts, practices, and techniques. This role requires strict adherence to safety and housekeeping standards. Employees in this position will be required to enter manufacturing areas. Work hours will align with those of the manufacturing operations, and overtime may be required at the direction of the department manager.
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to obtain US Security Clearance.
- Coursework from a trade or vocational school related to reading and interpreting complex blueprints and basic math.
- Understanding of relevant AS9100/ISO 9001 elements.
Responsibilities
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring and/or specialized equipment to perform inspections on rocket motors and rocket motor components under the supervision of higher‑level inspectors, in accordance with AS9100/ISO 9001 requirements.
- Complete documentation, including IR cards, discrepancy reports, and related paperwork.
- Enter shipping data, discrepancy reports, and Oracle entries into the computer system for all programs.
