About The Position

Join L3Harris at our Jefferson Road Operations Center (JROC) facility in Henrietta, NY, and become an integral part of a team dedicated to producing cutting-edge tactical communications products. This 1st shift Receiving Inspector role offers either a typical 5/8 work schedule or flexible 9/80 schedule. This opportunity entails inspection of a wide variety of part categories (electronic components, boards, fabrication, etc.), all supporting mission critical manufacturing. If you have a keen eye for detail, a mechanical aptitude, and proficiency with measurement instruments and computer systems, this position is perfect for you.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of measurement instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude desired
  • Inspection results are documented electronically, so computer proficiency is required
  • Must have good English written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use measurement equipment and tools (Calipers, Ohm Meters, Magnification Aids, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret Mechanical and Electrical drawings and specifications
  • Computer Proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of IPC-600, IPC-620 standards, is a plus
  • 2+ years’ experience in Receiving Inspection is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing inspections, tests, and sampling procedures of incoming purchased parts, materials & equipment used in the manufacture of L3Harris product.
  • Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials and recording quality results.
  • Compares quantity and part number of items received with procurement data and other specifications to ensure completeness and accuracy of order.
  • Interprets manufacturing drawings, diagrams, specifications and other documentation, to approve or reject incoming materials using standard physical, mechanical and/ or electrical measurements.
