Summary Provide basic electrical/avionics maintenance instruction to a U.S. or foreign customer, including classroom instruction, platform instruction, and partial instruction utilizing C-130 aircraft.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to clearly express technical concepts and procedures to students.
  • Math skills necessary to conduct aviation maintenance related tasks.
  • Knowledge of MS Office.
  • Sufficient intellectual and personal skills to evaluate, and where necessary, re-direct student’s activities.
  • Must provide U.S. Military or Civil Airline records documenting history of aviation maintenance and instructor experience.
  • Experience/sensitivity with diverse cultures.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
  • Valid U.S. Passport with at least 1 year validity.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.
  • Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form.
  • Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know.
  • Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.
  • All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.
  • Must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.
  • Must be able to walk or stand on level and /or inclined surfaces up to eight (8) hours per day and sit for up to three (3) hours per day.
  • Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs.
  • Must be able to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees, and reach above/below shoulders.
  • Must be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print.
  • Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
  • The employee will be required to work and live in a potentially hostile environment, at remote locations, and under austere conditions.
  • The employee may be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, under extreme weather conditions, within a hostile environment.

Nice To Haves

  • U.S. military maintenance experience preferred.
  • Overseas experience.
  • Possess current DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Previous experience training military personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs U.S. and foreign personnel in : C-130 aircraft Organizational Level and some Intermediate Level maintenance procedures, including documentation of training and test scores into student’s training folder
  • Basic electrical theory; inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of various C-130 avionics and electrical systems and controls such as communication, navigation and radar systems using instructor lead discussions, CBT and hands-on instruction
  • using technical data to diagnose and solve maintenance problems on aircraft electrical systems
  • interpreting and advising on maintenance procedures and policies necessary to repair aircraft
  • adjusting, aligning, rigging, and calibrating various aircraft electrical systems.
  • Participates in development and implementation of training programs.
  • Coordinates class arrangements as needed.
  • Contributes to improving criteria for evaluating effectiveness of courseware and training.
  • Keeps well-informed of new training materials, methods, and techniques.
