Job Responsibilities: Support manufacturing engineer in the resolution of manufacturing issues and provides manufacturing with tools and engineering support to implement new products into production. Support manufacturing engineer to determine product flow through the manufacturing cell by use of current engineering and continuous improvement techniques. Analyze various product structures and processes to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs. Perform Design of Experiment (DOE) analysis to determine optimum operating parameters to achieve the most efficient cell. Monitor and control objectives and costs of assigned project and establishes program timelines. Perform Ergonomic assessment, complete safety checklists and ensure that process and equipment meet Magna guidelines. Assist manufacturing engineer in the proto build activities, design for manufacturability reviews, development of work instructions, process flow diagrams, process failure mode effect analysis, process capability studies etc. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in manufacturing engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Must be able to work independently and self-motivated. Must be interested in pursuing a career in manufacturing engineering. Previous exposure to manufacturing engineering or related work preferred. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) Demonstrated ability to thoroughly research, recommend, and oversee implementation of new materials, processes, etc. and presents information. Champions innovative opportunities to expand the organization’s current and future business. Experience in a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment, with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities. Proven experience working with cross functional teams to complete daily tasks and projects. Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other employees. Knowledge/experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) Strong problem-solving skills to identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise. ROLE EXPECTATIONS Assist in the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes. Conduct time studies and workflow analysis to identify areas for improvement. Support the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives. Participate in the development and maintenance of process documentation, including work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process flow diagrams. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving production issues to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and maintenance, to support manufacturing objectives. Perform data collection and analysis to support decision-making and process improvements. Assist in the design and implementation of jigs, fixtures, and tooling to enhance production efficiency. Support the introduction of new products and processes into the manufacturing environment. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards and regulations.
