About The Position

Aireon deployed the world’s first global space-based air traffic surveillance system, providing real-time aircraft monitoring capabilities around the world, including over the poles, over the oceans and in remote areas. Aireon data enables safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly aviation travel, resulting in significant CO2 emission reductions. More than 20 Air Navigation Service Providers representing more than 40 countries – including NAV CANADA, NATS (UK), Air Traffic and Navigation Services (South Africa), Airports Authority of India (AAI), and ASECNA (Africa) -- rely on Aireon data to navigate aircraft in their airspaces. We are committed to offering an employment experience and benefits package that enables you and your family to grow with us and to share in our success. The Aireon Internship Program is an opportunity for students to be a part of the Aireon teams that are making groundbreaking advancements in global air traffic surveillance. As an Intern, you’ll begin making an impact on real projects from day one! Come prepared to grow, develop, and learn alongside a team and the leaders of our company. The Aireon Internship program is a 12-week program that runs from May 18, 2026, to July 31, 2026. During the program, interns will have the opportunity to provide valuable support to an Aireon department on a project or important work assignment. Interns will also be provided an opportunity to engage with senior leadership and fellow interns through regular engagement activities. The Data Science Intern will assist in both data analysis of Aireon’s global ADS-B data and development of machine learning models to support Aireon’s products and tools (e.g., high-fidelity Aireon Simulator - ASIM). Analysis will support investigating incidents, determining system performance, and supporting algorithm development. Development of ASIM will involve training multiple models using operational data to improve performance and predictions of real-world behavior. The intern will learn about processing large datasets, visualizing complex information, and applications of data science to a large-scale simulator.
