About The Position

The Lincoln Center Internship Program is a paid, in-person arts administration internship designed for NYC-based undergraduate and graduate students seeking meaningful, real-world experience in the cultural sector. This program cultivates the next generation of leaders by offering hands-on work opportunities and access to professionals across the arts and culture field. As part of this program, the Event Production Intern(s) will join the Production Department, supporting the planning and execution of live performances, public events, and internal operations across Lincoln Center’s campus. Interns gain access to: Meaningful in-person work experience in the arts and culture sector Professional development workshops focused on career readiness A vibrant community of peers and program alumni A Conversation Series featuring leaders across Lincoln Center Access to special events that reflect Lincoln Center’s mission as the world’s leading performing arts center

Requirements

  • A college student with an interest in event production, live entertainment, or technical theater
  • Based in New York City or the Greater NYC area
  • Available to work 35 hours per week from June-August 2026
  • Available for a flexible and changing schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Working knowledge of drafting software such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and/or Revit
  • Basic understanding of stagecraft, lighting/audio systems, or live event production (coursework or practical experience)
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/program in Technical Theater, Live Event Production, or a related field
  • Available to work nights and weekends as production schedules require
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment as needed (with appropriate accommodations, if required)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Comfort handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintenance, inventory, and organization of technical equipment and storage areas
  • Update or help create technical manuals, checklists, and venue documentation.
  • Participate in production meetings and contribute to advance planning for incoming performances.
  • Support technical preparation and logistical coordination for events and performances
  • Gain exposure to professional concert hall workflows and backstage operations
  • Observe and assist with lighting and audio system setup, troubleshooting, and execution
  • Learn how productions move from pre-production planning through live performance
  • Collaborate with artists, production crews, and venue staff in a fast-paced live environment
  • Develop an understanding of safety protocols and professional industry standards
