About The Position
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Optical Fabrication Engineering Intern to join our team for Summer 2026. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience through learning some of the many processes throughout this production area and then update/create WI's. You will work alongside industry professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that support our team and company objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of course work completed from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science or other applicable college programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Team-oriented but able to work independently when needed.
- Adaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and time management.
- Internship Duration: 10 – 14 weeks.
- All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. EHS standards.
Responsibilities
- Logically minded and good mechanical problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills
- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude
- Assist engineering staff with daily projects and duties
- Support department 5S initiatives
