You will gain exposure across Pro Operations, Outside Sales, Finance, and Senior Leadership, contributing to foundational work that helps us uncover untapped potential in new and existing accounts to drive lasting business growth. Job Summary: The Pro Sales Strategy & Analytics Intern will play a pivotal role in driving Pro market share by developing data-driven insights that enable our Outside Sales team to identify and pursue high-potential opportunities In this role, you will act as a "data detective," analyzing customer buying behaviors to identify actionable prospects, not just finding new customers, but uncovering opportunities to grow share of wallet with existing ones. You will look for specific patterns, such as declining spend in key categories or low penetration in exclusive product lines, to flag revenue opportunities. Crucially, you will partner closely with the Outside Sales team to understand their daily needs, ensuring your insights are practical and easy to use. You will translate your findings into a visualization dashboard and architect a "Prospecting Playbook" that provides the sales team with the specific intelligence they need to have winning conversations.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a 3rd or 4th year university degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data to find trends (e.g., year over year spend gaps, category penetration)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel (advanced) and PowerPoint
  • A "Hunter" Mindset: You are self-motivated and eager to uncover insights that others might miss, using data to drive business action
  • Sales Partnership: You are customer-centric and able to "work backwards" from the sales team’s needs, ensuring your analysis solves real-world selling challenges
  • Intellectual Curiosity: You have a genuine interest in understanding why a customer buys (or stops buying) and how data can tell that story
  • Ambiguity: You are comfortable working with open-ended questions and can create structure where none exists.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for presenting strategic insights to leadership and sales teams.
  • The successful student will be currently enrolled in a Canadian accredited university or college throughout the period of the Internship/Co-op program.
  • In addition, you must be legally entitled to work in Canada by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid study/work permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI) or SQL is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal and external data (including customer spend habits, building permits, market construction activity, and competitive indicators) to uncover patterns and identify sales opportunities
  • Connect with the Outside Sales team to understand their specific needs in supporting prospecting and sales insights
  • Develop a repeatable process or dashboard to visualize and track potential Pro sales opportunities for the sales organization
  • Create a Pro Sales prospecting playbook documenting data sources, workflows, and recommendations for future use
  • Translate analytical findings into clear insights and recommendations that inform sales strategies and drive new customer leads
  • Support other Pro Experience initiatives for system or process improvement
