Position Summary : The Inventory Analyst will be responsible for identifying, defining and leading opportunities to improve customer satisfaction through the delivery of improved product availability. The Inventory Analyst will organize and implement strategic initiatives and standardized approaches in Materials and Inventory Management. The Inventory Analyst will ensure the transaction processing is correct to maintain a high level of accuracy on both current and historical inventory activity. This position will require daily interface with Procurement, Sales, Production and Engineering to effectively assist with the managing of the Production schedule, Engineering changes, Inventory, Lean Completions and Kanban programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, or Associates Degree with 5 years inventory related experience, or 10 years inventory related experience.
  • Must have a proven track record, demonstrated by a progressive level of growth in responsibility.
  • Knowledge of Inventory management practices including proper forecasting, increasing turns, slow-moving inventory and inventory control plans.
  • Demonstrates the ability to pay very close attention to detail and immediately notice any discrepancies regarding inventory and finances.
  • Shows the ability to solve complex problems individually and quickly.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with spreadsheets and maintain databases effectively.
  • Onsite presence required Monday through Friday during standard business hours
  • This position operates in a manufacturing office setting and involves regular use of standard office equipment.
  • The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer based tasks.
  • The employee will occasionally move about the office or nearby production areas to access equipment, attend meetings, or communicate with team members.
  • The individual must be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and external parties in person, over the phone, and through digital platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Determines targets and action plans to achieve proper Inventory levels to support OTD goals to Customers, Inventory Turns, etc.
  • Oversee day-to-day Inventory functions in the Warehouse, Receiving and Packing areas to ensure compliance with established departmental and operational procedures and performance goals to help optimize Customer Service.
  • Maintains an Inventory of parts, within assigned components, to meet stated goals of Inventory while maintaining Production schedules.
  • Develop and implement long and short-term strategies for preventing Inventory discrepancies.
  • Investigates and resolves Inventory problems/issues such as cycle count accuracy discrepancies to ensure Inventory integrity.
  • Pareto and drive to root cause on Inventory discrepancies and ensure proper countermeasures are implemented
  • Recommend changes to Inventory levels (i.e., minimum/maximum levels, reorder quantities, estimated annual usage, Safety Stocks, etc.) and review with the Operations Manager and Buyers.
  • Develop/Improve Material/Inventory Management best practices including Planning, Purchasing Methods, Warehouse Management and Advanced Replenishment Methods.
  • Maintain and organize physical stocking locations as needed for efficiency in picking orders, performing inventories, and cycle counts
  • Review planned incoming material and reschedule as required in order to meet shipment forecasts and ensure Inventory is to planned levels.
  • Communicate changes to Purchasing with sufficient lead time to allow vendors to adjust.
  • Ensure the processing of all Inventory related transactions are correct to maintain a high degree of accuracy in both current and historical inventory data.
  • Works in close cooperation with various departments in identifying cost reduction and capacity improvement opportunities.
  • Owns and is responsible for updating PFEP every Quarter.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with the Production Manager, Production Planners and Buyers to communicate developing trends and direct information gathering activities.
  • Coordinate with Finance the scheduling, auditing and reconciliation of periodic physical Inventories.
  • Review inventory activity and make recommendations for obsolescence.
  • Review EOZ items and recommend items for disposal or substitution.
  • Use this date to drive to root cause and implementing countermeasures.
