About The Position

The Inventory Control Analyst is responsible for managing inventory investment, supplier purchase orders, and material flow to support sales, operations, and financial objectives. This role serves as the link between purchasing, suppliers, sales, and warehouse operations to ensure product availability, accurate inventory levels, and efficient material movement. The Inventory Control Analyst places and manages purchase orders, tracks open orders with suppliers, coordinates inbound logistics from local vendors, and regularly analyzes inventory performance to meet targets related to turns, aging, minimum stock levels, and market opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control, purchasing, or supply chain roles.
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or relevant course of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented, accountable organization.
  • Ability to communicate both oral & written effectively with internal & external vendors and customers.
  • Ability to negotiate and sources both ferrous and non-ferrous metal.
  • Ability to collect data, establish facts and purchase metals to ensure inventory goals are met and maintain accurate lead times.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex business documents.
  • Represents the management in a highly professional manner, exercises diplomacy and maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office Products and ERP.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders with approved suppliers based on inventory requirements, sales demand, and stocking strategies.
  • Manage open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers on delivery dates, quantities, and changes.
  • Communicate purchase order status updates to sales and management.
  • Maintain accurate purchase order records, pricing, lead times, and supplier performance data.
  • Regularly review inventory levels to support targets for inventory turns, aged inventory reduction, and minimum stock requirements.
  • Analyze usage, demand trends, and market conditions to recommend inventory adjustments or purchasing opportunities.
  • Identify slowmoving, excess, or atrisk inventory and communicate findings to management.
  • Support physical inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies as needed.
  • Coordinate pickup and receipt of materials from local suppliers.
  • Ensure incoming materials are properly received, documented, and entered into the system accurately.
  • Work closely with warehouse and operations teams to resolve receiving or material movement issues.
  • Work with sales to align inventory levels with customer demand and market opportunities.
  • Partner with accounting to support accurate receiving, invoicing, and inventory valuation.
  • Communicate inventory risks, shortages, and opportunities clearly and timely.
  • Ensure purchasing and inventory activities follow company policies and ethical standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, reporting, and supplier performance.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data integrity within the ERP system.
