About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service. Receiving & Inventory Control Receive all DSD (Direct Store Delivery) deliveries, log them into the system, and record all non‑Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries. Break down loads from DSD suppliers; transport product to freezer or cooler as needed. Verify orders against invoices, audit case contents, and use electronic receiving systems to verify cost. Maintain invoices and reports using the established filing system per record retention requirements. Review and accept only proper and accurate orders submitted by outside sales representatives. Prevent shrink, damage, and spoilage: repair and price damaged product if saleable; discard or return damaged product as required. Ensure proper code‑dating practices are enforced for all products within the department. Control shrink and cost through proper receiving, rotation, and documentation. Backroom Organization & Safety Maintain the security, sanitation, and organization of receiving, storage, and loading dock areas. Inspect backroom equipment (such as pallet jacks and balers) and report any malfunctions to the Store Director. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Implement emergency procedures during equipment or software malfunctions. Operations Support Occasionally perform ordering, stocking, facing, pricing, marking, and rotating of dairy and frozen products in the absence of department clerks. Ability to follow and maintain department standards and operational requirements. Use and operate equipment such as manual/electric pallet jacks, power lifts, balers, compactors, safety cutters, scissors, pricing guns, telephones, handheld units, printers, and computer software. Training & Leadership Train employees in store policies, sales processes, and record‑keeping procedures. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Professional Standards Ensure compliance with company grooming and dress code standards. Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
