About The Position

Sunward’s Inventory & Supplies Manager is responsible for safeguarding Sunward’s inventory and supplies assets and is accountable for Sunward’s inventory and supplies tracking systems and related controls. Accountable for maintaining real-time inventory accuracy in Sunward’s system of record. Accountable for receiving goods, labeling, storing, and processing related receipts of goods transactions in the system of record on a real-time basis. Oversee the process of relieving inventory to manufactured job orders, detect anomalies, identify areas of waste, and propose solutions for a continuous improvement mode of operation. Anticipate expected deliveries of goods. Collaborate with procurement regarding untimely or unexpected deliveries or damaged goods and returns. Manage materials and supplies storage areas to optimize organization and material movement efficiency. Collaborate with accounting personnel to develop and manage inventory process controls, including cycle counting and physical inventory processes. Collaborate with Purchasing, Operations, and Accounting management to preserve interdepartmental accountability. Lead and communicate with inventory staff to meet business goals and address personnel issues. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience managing raw material inventories and supplies inventories.
  • Understands general ledger posting impacts from inventory transactions.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Organized.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP technology as it relates to inventory and supplies management and analysis.
  • Intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Thorough knowledge of inventory controls and related standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with all safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Up to 25% travel may be required.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. at a time and operate various types of lifts.
  • This role may be required to assist with other duties as assigned as well as in other functions of the operation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
