What you will be doing The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day execution and supervision of inventory control processes at the Distribution Center to ensure accurate perpetual inventory. This role focuses on monitoring KPIs, enforcing established procedures, supporting audits and compliance requirements, and leading hourly associates. The position partners closely with Operations, Finance, and IT to resolve inventory discrepancies and continuously improve inventory accuracy. The position will be based in Wells, ME.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a distribution or warehouse environment.
  • Strong understanding of inventory-related financial metrics and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Experience with slot-picking programs and product recall procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and monitor KPIs related to perpetual and physical inventory accuracy, ensuring adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Perform root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies and support the implementation of corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Ensure strict SOX compliance for inventory by enforcing internal controls, supporting audits, maintaining documentation, and promptly addressing control gaps to protect the integrity of financial reporting.
  • Analyze unresolved inventory imbalances and escalate trends or systemic issues to management.
  • Support the evaluation and effective use of the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and related inventory tools.
  • Assist with optimizing system settings and inventory processes based on operational or business changes.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate inventory control associates to meet operational and accuracy objectives.
  • Allocate daily work assignments, provide training, and support associate development.
  • Partner with management on forecasting inventory control needs and operating within established budgets.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources on associate relations, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and corrective action.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Utilize reports and dashboards to track performance, identify issues, and drive corrective actions.
  • Maintain inventory records, documentation, and retention processes in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
