We specialize in providing superior inventory management solutions for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) parts through our Distribution Center and a nationwide fleet of fully stocked Mobile Industrial Hardware Stores. We currently serve customers across more than 30 industries throughout the United States, including transportation, aviation, aerospace, facilities maintenance, medical, military, marine, power generation, manufacturing, heavy equipment, and federal, state, and local government. We are seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to play a critical role in optimizing inventory accuracy, availability, and performance across our Distribution Center and over 100 mobile stores nationwide. Position Overview The Inventory Controller is responsible for overseeing inventory management processes, analyzing inventory performance, maintaining accurate stock levels, and supporting cost control initiatives. This role works cross-functionally with Territory Managers, Purchasing, and Distribution Center teams to ensure inventory is productive, accurate, and aligned with business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of inventory control or inventory management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Solid understanding of ABC analysis and standard inventory management principles.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Inventory Management Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and approve daily Auto Stock Replenishments (ASRs).
  • Partner with Territory Managers (TMs) on annual inventory planning and optimization.
  • Identify and retrieve unproductive or obsolete inventory from the field.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels for both the Distribution Center (DC) and mobile stores.
  • Support inventory balancing and redistribution initiatives as needed.
  • Analyze inventory trends, stock levels, usage patterns, and variances.
  • Identify discrepancies and investigate root causes.
  • Prepare and distribute detailed inventory and financial reports.
  • Use data insights to recommend actionable improvements to inventory accuracy and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Purchasing team to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved supply chain efficiency.
  • Support initiatives that reduce excess inventory, stockouts, and carrying costs.
  • Assist in developing and refining inventory management processes and best practices.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
  • Conduct audits to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Identify trends or recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Confidently communicate with Territory Managers and internal teams regarding inventory performance, discrepancies, and recommendations.
  • Provide clear explanations of data findings and inventory decisions.
  • Support training or guidance related to inventory best practices as needed.
