About The Position

The IP Paralegal will support the Bally’s Intralot Intellectual Property team by providing legal and administrative assistance across a broad range of IP matters. Our IP Paralegal is a key and valued part of the team and frequently act as a point of contact with the wider business. This role provides exposure to a wide range of activities across the IP function and offers opportunities to develop within the role by taking on increasingly complex and challenging work. It offers an excellent foundation for candidates looking to progress their legal career within intellectual property. This position is offered on a 10‑month fixed term contract (with potential to extend by two more months) and will be hybrid based in our London office. The IP Paralegal will support the IP team with its day‑to‑day workload and will also assist the wider Legal team with general commercial legal tasks from time to time. Previous IP experience is essential.

Requirements

  • Completed a law degree or the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL);
  • At least 12 months’ prior experience working as an IP paralegal;
  • Experience working in a professional office environment and confidence using tools such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong commercial awareness and an appreciation of deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the enforcement of Bally’s Intralot IP rights, including online brand monitoring, drafting takedown notices and cease and desist letters, monitoring watch notices, and supporting trade mark oppositions;
  • Providing day‑to‑day support in relation to the trade mark portfolio, including assisting with trade mark filings, following up on renewals, managing deadline trackers, and collecting evidence of trade mark use;
  • Assisting in the preparation of intra‑group IP agreements, including drafting, tailoring, formatting and proofreading templates and legal agreements such as trade mark and domain name assignments, brand licences and authorisation letters;
  • Supporting trade mark clearance searches for new brand and game names, carrying out IP ownership searches, and preparing IP schedules and reports;
  • Assisting in the management of the domain name portfolio, including providing regular domain name portfolio exports to commercial stakeholders and supporting the acquisition of new domain names;
  • Supporting patent‑related tasks as required;
  • Conducting font licensing reviews and assisting with the implementation of the company’s font policy;
  • Supporting the responsible use of AI tools, including assisting with assessments of AI‑related IP risks, supporting internal guidance and policies.
  • Assisting in the preparation of IP training materials;
  • Providing general administrative support to the team, including filing and e‑filing, preparing documents for signature, and organising team social and training events;
  • Carrying out legal and industry research, delivering updates and presentations to the team, providing IP training, and attending legal and IP‑related meetings.
