The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) is charged with implementing the state's public school laws for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade public schools at the direction of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction and State Board of Education. The Digital Accessibility Coordinator serves as the agency lead for digital accessibility and universal design within the NC Department of Public Instruction. This position provides consultation, training, system review, and procurement guidance to ensure digital content, instructional materials, and IT systems meet accessibility standards and comply with federal and state laws. The role supports DPI divisions and Public School Units in implementing inclusive digital practices that promote equitable access for all learners. This is a field-based position that may require travel to Public School Units and agency locations for training, consultation, and evaluation activities.
