Position Overview JOB TITLE: IT Clinical Applications Systems Analyst III COST CENTER: 000000 JOB CODE: 70128 FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt Telecommuting Eligible: SUMMARY (Basic Purpose of the Job) Oversees complex Clinical or Business Information applications in order to provide automated solutions that meet the organizational strategic goals. Provides implementation support for all clinical modules including workflow analysis, issue documentation, resolution, and policy and procedure development. Leads large projects and communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences to keep everyone informed. Participates in system application and hardware reviews to determine feasibility, innovation, cost, and usefulness to the organization. Works in Collaboration with IT Team Lead, PMs, Managers and Directors to ensure successful completion of project and timelines. Utilizes clinical and analytic mindset of end user workflows, has in depth knowledge and ability to develop creative solutions for optimization. Effectively communicates project and team status to internal and external audiences and follows governance and change control processes.

Requirements

  • Masters in HealthCare Informatics, Information Technology, or Pharmacy or Nursing Clinical degree. In lieu of a Master’s degree, Associates degree required with eight years of clinical systems experience.
  • Five years of previous clinical systems analyst and systems implementations experience required.
  • Project Management and knowledge of clinical/business workflows.
  • Five years of both clinical and operational experience with Clinical or Business EHR systems.
  • Registered Nurse - NJ
  • Possesses excellent organizational, time management, interpersonal, verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Strong educator with presentation skills.
  • Clinical and/or analytical skills.
  • Proficient with database software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Powerpoint).
  • Must be able to deal with stress effectively and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond quickly in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Implements and enhances Clinical/Business information systems and procedures based on user requirements through analysis and detailed functional specification of systems.
  • Identifies and implements systems that support more efficient and effective work performance based on inherent knowledge of clinical/business functions and processes while meeting organizational, regulatory, and accrediting requirements.
  • Participates in integrated testing through preparation, development and execution of test scripts, verification of test results, and user acceptance sign off in accordance with system implementation standards.
  • Demonstrates commendable interpersonal skills through the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts.
  • Participates in vendor demos, site visits and reference calls to determine general feasibility, cost and alternative solutions for upcoming technology upgrades, modules or new innovations.
  • Stays current with new innovations and seeks opportunities to advance technology within the organization.
  • Initiates escalation procedures for issue resolution when required.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking through the willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible.
  • Possesses willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Communicates updates and new releases throughout the organization and provides training as needed.
  • Ensures downtime procedures are maintained and policy is reflective of workflow processes.
  • Assists in the training and competency of end users to prepare for planned and/or unplanned downtime to ensure business contingency plan is met.
  • Possesses knowledge of Clinical workflows and or Clinical experience, captures details, enhances end user experience and conducts post implementation audits to evaluate and optimize workflows.
  • Participates with security audits and has knowledge of cybersecurity polices and procedures.
  • Ensures PHI and HIPPA standards are followed.
  • Acts as an individual contributor in the implementation and support of all assigned information systems applications.
  • Collaborates with Training Coordinator to develop and support educational materials and job aides for end users on system changes and new roll outs.
  • Troubleshoots with end users and coordinate information systems activities with other members of the management team to ensure user needs are met with no interruption to end users' departments and core processes.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of system build and Rules and supports analyst in design and functionality.
  • Participates in or co-chairs clinical and system committees to ensure system is support end user including patient safety, financial, and regulatory needs including IAC, Informatics Council, Pharmacy, Med Management, Quality and Safety Regulatory, Infection Prevention, Data Governance, and Surgical Council.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of system planned and unplanned downtime procedures and collaborates effectively to ensure business contingency plan is met in conjunction with customer service manager and entire IT team until successful operations are restored and data is recovered.
  • Motivates and shows appreciation for the team and reinforce the importance of excellent customer service.
  • Performs other related duties assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs other duties necessary for the welfare of patients or the efficient operations of the institution as needed or required.
