The company’s patented Hydro-to-Cathode™ direct precursor synthesis technology produces new, sustainable cathode materials from spent lithium-ion batteries more efficiently than traditional methods, resulting in improved performance and lower carbon emissions. Ascend Elements is taking sustainability in the lithium-ion battery industry to a higher level. We are seeking an IT Specialist to install, maintain, and support computer systems and networks to ensure optimal functionality across the organization. This role is responsible for providing technical support, training users on proper and secure system usage, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills, and a high level of attention to detail. The goal of this role is to maintain efficient, secure, and up-to-date IT systems that support business operations and sustainability. This is a fully onsite role in Covington, Georgia.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5years of experience as an IT Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows 10, Microsoft Office, and Active Directory.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • In-depth understanding of computer hardware, operating systems, and network infrastructure.
  • Solid knowledge of internet security, data privacy, and IT best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and configure workstations, including computers and peripheral devices (e.g., routers, printers).
  • Inspect computer hardware (hard drives, keyboards, mice, etc.) to ensure proper functionality.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software applications and system functions according to specifications.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize local area networks (LANs) for performance and reliability.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of computer systems and networks.
  • Provide user training and guidance on new hardware, software, and IT best practices.
  • Schedule and perform system upgrades and maintenance with minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues through repair, replacement, or debugging.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, fixes, and maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor IT inventory levels, identify equipment shortages, and coordinate orders as needed.
