About The Position

Brilliant Earth is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our IT team and support the reliable, secure, and optimized operation of our corporate systems and end-user technology. This role is critical in providing seamless technical support across our showrooms and corporate offices. In this role, you will handle Tier 2 escalations, manage hardware deployments, and ensure business continuity during peak operational hours. The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical expertise with strong communication, customer service, and process-oriented thinking. You will help design and support end-user computing products and services, manage Microsoft 365 and Okta, and drive automation and efficiency across our IT services. The ideal candidate will be able to work a full-time schedule from Saturday to Wednesday. This role is a hybrid position in our Secaucus, NJ location. The targeted budget for this position ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 annually. This compensation budget range may be adjusted at any time at the discretion of the company. Work Schedule & Location (Hybrid Model) This position follows a non-traditional work week to provide essential coverage during high-volume business days. Work Days: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Days Off: Thursday and Friday. Shift Hours: 9 hours per day (e.g., 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM) with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. Hybrid Structure: Onsite (Mon, Tue, Wed): Required onsite presence at our Secaucus Distribution Center. Remote (Sat, Sun): Work from home to support weekend operations.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive experience in IT operations or systems administration.
  • 2+ years of hands-on administration of Microsoft 365, with proven expertise in:
  • Exchange Online policies (mail flow, retention, security)
  • SharePoint and OneDrive administration
  • Storage/space troubleshooting and archiving management
  • 2+ years of experience administering Okta or other Identity Management platforms.
  • Experience with automation/orchestration tools: Okta Workflows, Power Automate, Workato, Freshservice, or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS administration, troubleshooting, and endpoint configuration.
  • Hands-on experience with basic networking concepts (LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, Firewall; Meraki preferred).
  • Experience working within ticketing queues, SLAs, and change management processes.
  • Familiarity with APIs, integrations (REST, SOAP), or service connectors.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated customer-facing support experience.
  • Ability to work onsite in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Experience managing devices using Jamf, Intune, or similar MDM platforms.
  • ITIL or equivalent service management certification.
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or JavaScript).
  • Experience with documentation automation or IT knowledge base management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely help desk support via Freshservice, including onsite, remote, and occasional on-call support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving desktops (Windows/macOS), email, printers, conferencing tools, network connectivity, VPN, and audio/visual equipment.
  • Develop user training resources, self-service documentation, and onboarding materials.
  • Serve as a primary administrator for Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive), with responsibility for policies, permissions, security, retention, storage, and optimization.
  • Administer Okta and other identity management tools, including app assignments, security policies, and basic group flow logic.
  • Manage mailbox storage, including archiving, quotas, and automated space management.
  • Design and maintain automated workflows for onboarding/offboarding, provisioning, and compliance using tools like Okta Workflows, Power Automate, Workato, or Freshservice Workflow Automator.
  • Maintain an accurate asset inventory across endpoints, software, licenses, and hardware.
  • Ensure timely updates, patching, and secure configuration of corporate devices.
  • Enforce IT security best practices, including email security, authentication standards, compliance reporting, and data protection.
  • Work with infrastructure and security partners on change management, policy enforcement, and incident response.
  • Maintain documentation of processes, configurations, and service standards to support IT governance.
