Our work depends on an IT Systems Manager joining our team to evolve the IT Systems for the Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree; substitution of years of experience may be permissible.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related professional work experience required
  • Must have extensive experience with VMware for virtualization, including deployment, management, and troubleshooting
  • Must have strong expertise in storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and backup solutions
  • Must have hands-on experience with Commvault for enterprise backup and recovery solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.)
  • Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Proficiency in networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Strong knowledge of IT security principles, compliance, and best practices
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks and DevOps methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with SLA/OLA management, Knowledge Management. Service Delivery, Continuous Service Improvement, and Problem Management
  • Ability to enhance information systems by identifying information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accounts, security, workflows, and secure systems connectivity
  • Effective administrative and organizational skills
  • Effective people management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of company policies, processes, and procedures
  • Understanding of company strategic goals and how they align to business operations
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Must possess and maintain active DOE Q access authorization as a condition of employment -or- must possess active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q access authorization within six months of hiring as a condition of employment

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of related professional work experience strongly preferred
  • ITIL/ITIL v4
  • Project Management
  • CISSP
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator

Responsibilities

  • Manages systems professionals directly or through subordinates by providing leadership, coaching, and training
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems
  • Monitors system performance and implements improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency
  • Develops and administers schedule and performance requirements
  • Has hiring responsibilities
  • Enhances information systems by identifying information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies
  • Oversees the maintenance of accounts, security, workflows, and secure systems connectivity
  • Manages all information systems, policies and procedures
