About The Position

Grand Forks County has an excellent career opportunity for an IT Systems Senior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play an important part in supporting the County’s technology infrastructure and ensuring employees have reliable tools to effectively serve the public. The IT Systems Senior Technician installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer hardware, software, and related systems while providing technical assistance to County staff. Responsibilities include performing computer hardware and software moves, additions, and changes; installing and repairing equipment; and performing preventative maintenance on personal computers and related systems. This position also provides user training and technical support on hardware and software applications. The IT Systems Senior Technician assists with maintaining video security systems, computer security, and network integrity to ensure reliable and secure technology operations throughout the County. Network knowledge and experience are highly preferred. Grand Forks County offers excellent benefits, including retirement, paid leave, and health coverage (see benefit information below). Requirements

  • Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of related technology experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • knowledge of Local area networks and computer hardware/software installation
  • knowledge of Windows operating systems and common software applications
  • knowledge of Computer networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
  • knowledge of Personal computer and network hardware installation
  • knowledge of Testing methodologies and documentation practices
  • ability to Install, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software
  • ability to Assist and train users in the effective use of technology
  • ability to Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • ability to Maintain accurate records of work performed
  • ability to Prepare clear documentation, reports, and user instructions
  • ability to Work independently while contributing to team goals
  • ability to Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive data
  • ability to Communicate clearly and effectively with staff, officials, and the public
  • ability to Build positive working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds

Nice To Haves
