About The Position

JCITA Training Expert The Joint Counterintelligence Training Activity (JCITA) serves as the DoD’s central authority for standardized counterintelligence (CI) training, education, and professional development across the military services, combatant commands, and select interagency partners. Its mission is to develop, deliver, and sustain joint CI training programs that prepare military, civilian, and contractor personnel to detect, deter, and defeat foreign intelligence threats targeting U.S. forces, operations, technologies, and national security interests. JCITA designs and executes advanced, and specialized CI courses covering areas such as counterespionage, insider threat detection, CI collections and investigations, counterintelligence support to operations, offensive and defensive CI methodologies, cyber-enabled threats, and analytic tradecraft. The organization ensures training standardization across the joint force while integrates real-world threat intelligence into curriculum, and maintains alignment with DoW doctrine, policy, and operational priorities. Position Summary – Training Expert The Training Expert provides advanced instructional leadership and subject matter expertise in the delivery of Counterintelligence (CI) tradecraft training. This position is responsible for conducting high-quality platform and scenario-based instruction designed to enhance operational proficiency and mission readiness. The Training Expert applies expert-level knowledge and experience in conducting, supervising, and supporting CI activities to ensure training is realistic, current, and aligned with operational requirements. The Training Expert develops and delivers engaging instructional content, mentors students and junior instructors, and supports the continuous improvement of curriculum and instructional methodologies. The Training Expert ensures adherence to established standards and certification requirements while maintaining instructional excellence in both classroom and practical exercise environments.

Requirements

  • Must have 10 years demonstrated experience, with at least a portion within the last two years.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited CI Special Agent credentialing school and an accredited industry or military master instructor training program.
  • Completion of one of the following JCITA courses is required: CI Operations Qualification Course (CIOQC) or legacy operations course, or Joint Military CI Collections Course (JMCCC) or legacy CI collections course.
  • The ability to achieve and maintain DIA instructor certification is required.
  • TS/SCI with ability to obtain CI Poly.
  • US Citizenship Required
