About The Position

Momofuku was founded by chef David Chang in 2004 with the opening of Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City. Credited with “the rise of contemporary Asian American cuisine” by the New York Times and named the “most important restaurant in America” by Bon Appétit magazine, Momofuku has restaurants in the New York, Los Angeles, and Las Vegas as well as Momofuku Goods, a line of restaurant-grade products for home cooks. Overview The Graphic Designer will help support the Marketing team in all areas including ideation/concepting, design, and production of materials that successfully express the Momofuku brand across multiple spaces and platforms.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years design experience, preferably in the hospitality space.
  • Strong knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop CC, and Microsoft Word a must.
  • A strong eye for design, layout, typography, and a high level of attention to detail.
  • An understanding of the Momofuku brand and an interest in and awareness of the hospitality industry at large.
  • Knowledge of print production standards.
  • An interest in organizational design systems.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • A “no job too small” attitude and a willingness to jump in where needed.
  • Enjoy working both independently and as part of a team.

  • Bonus points for After Effects, Sketch, and C4D.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain all branding, marketing, and promotional materials, including menus, websites, signage, packaging, store design and more, across multiple restaurants and platforms.
  • Spearhead the development of revised and updated brand assets for various restaurants.
  • Support in ideation, research, and trend analysis of the restaurant and consumer packaged goods space.
  • Audit and update current design systems, from menus to websites to restaurant spaces.
  • Determine and implement best practices for maintaining these systems.
  • Prepare materials for print production.
  • Maintain and update asset library and brand guides.
  • Enforce brand standards internally and externally.
  • Manage and provide feedback to Design intern as needed.
