The Business Intelligence Junior System Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of advanced systems and reporting solutions. This role requires strong technical expertise in software engineering, data science, and systems architecture.

Requirements

  • 4-year bachelor's degree in STEM field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical discipline).
  • Experience in software engineering and application development, data analytics/statistical analytics, business intelligence and system analysis, and information systems architecture preferred.
  • Entry-level candidates with strong academic background and relevant internship experience are encouraged to app.
  • Experience or strong academic foundation in the following:
  • Programming: Advanced skills in at least one programming language (Python, .NET, Java, etc.).
  • Database Engineering: SQL and database development experience.
  • Data Analysis: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and statistical analysis tools.
  • Software Engineering: Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong mathematical and logical reasoning skills with exceptional attention to technical detail.
  • Communication: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Self-Direction: Highly organized, intellectually curious, with passion for continuous learning.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced environments.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work flexible schedule based on technical project demands and company needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Power BI, Tabular Editor, and semantic layer curation is preferred.
  • Database design, optimization, and business intelligence presentation layer development.
  • Experience with modern BI tools: Power BI, Tabular Editor, and semantic layer curation.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and distributed systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Following Technical Systems & Solutions  Store leadership reporting platforms.
  • Advanced staffing analytics tools.
  • Commission & incentive calculation systems.
  • HR goal setting & performance tracking applications.
  • Employee turnover prediction models, recruitment analytics, and compensation analysis systems.
  • Other technical systems & solutions as assigned.
  • Software Development & Engineering Design, develop, and implement reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical applications in partnership with People Leader.
  • Identify system performance bottlenecks and architect solutions to optimize business process efficiency.
  • Take full technical ownership of reported issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing comprehensive solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following software engineering principles.
  • Requirements Analysis & Technical Design Translate complex business requirements into detailed technical specifications and system architectures.
  • Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical guidance.
  • Design scalable, efficient solutions using industry best practices in partnership with People Leader.
  • Software Development Life Cycle Leadership Participate in all phases of SDLC including planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Conduct technical reviews and communicate system changes and enhancements to stakeholders.
  • Serve as technical subject matter expert in cross-functional engineering meetings.
  • Lead user acceptance testing sessions and provide technical support during system rollouts.
  • Perform additional technical duties as assigned.
