Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency, training, or experience in the subject area to be taught, appropriate to the level and audience of the non-credit class.
  • Ability to plan and deliver instruction in a professional and effective manner.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching, training, or instructional experience in a relevant setting, such as workforce training, youth programs, community education, or adult learning.
  • Experience working with diverse audiences or in applied, hands-on instructional environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Instructional Preparation: Preparing instruction for assigned non-credit classes. Planning and organizing course content appropriate to the subject matter and intended audience, whether professional skills, youth programs, or community education. Developing lesson plans, instructional materials, and activities that support stated learning objectives and align with class descriptions. Ensuring lessons are structured, engaging, and appropriate for the age, skill level, and learning needs of participants. Preparation may also include coordinating required materials, tools, or supplies and reviewing relevant safety or participation guidelines prior to instruction.
  • Instructional Delivery: Delivering effective instruction in a classroom, lab, workshop, or other approved learning environment. Facilitating learning through clear communication, demonstrations, guided practice, and discussion, adapting instructional methods as needed to support participant engagement and understanding. Maintaining a positive and respectful earning environment; managing classroom behavior; and ensuring participant safety. Communicating professionally with students, parents or guardians (when applicable), and UACCB staff, and responds appropriately to questions or concerns related to the class.
  • Reporting and Data Collection: Completing required instructional reporting. Recording accurate attendance records, administering required evaluations or assessments, and submitting basic outcomes or completion information as requested. For classes that include skill checks or assessments, documenting participant progress or performance using provided guidelines. This information supports program accountability, continuous improvement, and institutional reporting requirements.
