About The Position

Test and analyze zirconia, silica, and sand samples before, during, and after processing to determine physical and chemical properties to ensure products meet quality standards and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Ability to perform basic math with little / no errors
• Skill in use of computers and technical databases
• Ability to evaluate, interpret, and analyze mineral data
• High School Diploma or GED
• At least 2 years experience in a lab or equivalent education

Responsibilities

• Prepare, test, and analyze samples in order to determine their content and characteristics, using laboratory instrumentation.
• Perform lab analysis on product shipments to ensure products are in specification.
• Operate and calibrate testing and measuring equipment to provide timely and accurate analytical results
• Compile, review, record, and enter data for use by the production/logistics coordinator to ship products and generate COAs
• Participate in quality program objectives and help to resolve quality issues
• Report any out of spec material to quality manager and issue nonconformance reports
• Perform essential housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness and organization
• Prepare and pack customer sample requests to review for their applications
• Travel into the manufacturing plants to collect samples
