About The Position

Entry-level position using standard techniques and methodologies to perform assigned tasks associated with landscape architecture designs. Assists in completing plan sets including construction documents, ordinance compliance specifications, graphic layouts for project presentations and plant selection. Uses computer assisted design software to translate data into functional designs and documents. Works under the supervision of more experienced staff and project managers to develop technical knowledge and work efficiency.   Essential Functions Assist in developing design concepts, studies, and design options Perform basic analysis and design calculations under direct supervision Uses computer-assisted design software to execute assignments Helps prepare presentations, renderings, and 3D models to effectively communicate design ideas to the project team, clients, and contractors Provide support to department staff members as needed Review work product for Quality Control/Quality Assurance purposes Work collaboratively with team members to gain technical knowledge and work efficiency Work on assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • B.S. in Landscape Architecture or related field (accredited program)
  • 0+ years of experience
  • Demonstrates ability to successfully engage with professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment, communicates with team members and builds relationships and trust
  • Familiarity with design principles, plant materials, hardscape elements, and sustainable design practices
  • Exercises good judgement
  • Ability to convey information through effective verbal and written communication
  • Familiarity using computer-aided design software and other software packages typically associated with landscape architecture required
  • Proficient in general documentation software such as Microsoft Suite, Bluebeam, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Perform assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency increases
  • Willingness to learn and develop public speaking and presentation skills
  • Effectively maintains office and field health & safety requirements and protocols
  • Maintains a work schedule conducive to team collaboration and project-specific requirements

Nice To Haves

  • LEED, Arborist, or other relevant certification preferred

Responsibilities
