Present Job Opening: -Entry-level Landscape Architecture Designer – Orlando, FL or Sanford, FL. CPH is actively seeking a talented and collaborative team player to join our team as a Landscape Architecture Designer! This is a GREAT opportunity for an entry-level professional in landscape architecture and design who is passionate about bringing design from concept to reality. We are open to a recent landscape architecture graduate or a landscape design professional with 3-5 years’ experience who is passionate about this space with a solid proficiency level in AutoCAD. The ideal candidate will start off in a production role supporting our team in a positive and collaborative fashion. This individual should see no task or project as too small and should be committed to constant adaptability and growth as well as exercising a high focus on detail and quality. We are seeking a highly motivated individual who will excel in this role that could quickly turn into a design level position. This transition would depend on their ability to be an effective and productive resource providing the best deliverables for our client. This unique opportunity is huge for an entry-level professional as they will have the opportunity to focus on a specific client program for major big brand clients in the retail space. The ideal candidate will be able to assist team with start-to-finish project work, supporting landscape and hardscape designs, code research, and exercise high proficiency in AutoCAD. This individual will be a dynamic and flexible contributor to the TEAM with the ability to support several projects in various stages of design. This individual will support mid-to-senior-level architectural team members with management of multiple projects requiring strong adaptability, cross-collaboration, and effective communication. We are seeking an active listener who takes ownership in their own work and will contribute to the TEAM win for our valued clients! Candidates with experience working with landscape and hardscape construction documents for design projects will be highly attractive candidates. We encourage applicants to share samples of any relevant CAD work and/or samples of construction plans and details. Additional responsibilities could include assisting with field inspections as a Landscape Architecture Designer at CPH. A valid driver’s license is a must. The Landscape Architecture Designer works with the Landscape Architect and CAD design team in development of landscape and hardscape deliverables and designs. This role is essential in assisting our more senior staff in all quality control of final deliverables and ensuring that all landscape architecture projects comply with CPH standards for quality, sustainability, and aesthetic excellence. The Landscape Architect Designer is responsible for supporting departmental design and management of project deliverables by serving as a constant and active team player to our cross-functional team. This exciting role will involve projects across parks, gardens, commercial properties, and urban spaces. This position collaborates with project managers, architects, engineers, and other project teams to create functional and aesthetically pleasing outdoor environments that enhance quality of life and sustainability.

Requirements

  • Design experience in preparing landscape and hardscape plans is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in irrigation systems design.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook and familiarity with Deltek VantagePoint and Smartsheet or similar software platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketchup and rendering software is highly desired.
  • Ability to exercise critical thinking and good independent judgement.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task and work on multiple projects while adhering to project schedules and budgets.
  • Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, quality conscious, reliable and self-motivated.
  • Recent college graduate from relevant architectural studies with landscape focus and/or internship experience of relevance and/or related work experience
  • Relevant work experience or a bachelor’s in landscape architecture; preferred – not required
  • A valid driver’s license is a must.

Nice To Haves

  • Florida landscape architectural design experience is a huge PLUS
  • Experience preparing project punch list reports is a plus.
  • Experience in Public Park, FDOT/LAP and National Commercial Programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as entry-level recent graduate in landscape architecture or 3-5 years experience with landscape design support on highly focused and collaborative team touching all areas including, but not limited to design, coordination, and permitting, of projects.
  • Assists with preparation of accurate presentations, designs, details, and construction documents in CAD, including code-compliant landscape planting and hardscape plans.
  • Actively partners and collaborates with team members and receives mentorship with a positive attitude and ambition to deliver for our clients and interface with venders.
  • Collaborates and assists in all essential project work duties with firm landscape architects, architects, project managers, and business development teams to enhance project delivery.
  • Assists with research and implementation of relevant codes and client requirements to ensure compliance.
  • Develops and utilizes CAD standards and templates to streamline design processes.
  • Prepares specifications, reviews shop drawings, and provides construction administration support.
  • Travel periodically for site investigations, and construction observation, including preparing or reviewing reports and exhibits.
  • Conducts quality control by reviewing documents prepared by others.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
