About The Position

As a key member of the Operations team, the Lead Assembler will assemble, inspect, and package and kit the Company’s medical device products. The Lead Assembler also monitors to other Assemblers and performs other duties on the manufacturing floor. Work location is currently Plymouth, but candidates should be open to a potential move to another site within 15 miles, depending on future operational requirements.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience in medical device or other regulated industry.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational certificates preferred.
  • Experience with medical device manufacturing in a cleanroom and with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate problems or issues clearly and concisely; must be able to read and understand work instructions and safety guidelines and communicate in English.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively relate with team members and management.
  • Individuals will need to stand or sit for extended periods, and work at a cleanroom table height ranging from 30"-40" in a sitting or standing position depending on the workstation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computers including MS Office.
  • If applicable, ability to work with and around chemicals daily with proper personal protective equipment in place.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor assemblers on site during production activities to ensure adherence to manufacturing and safety procedures; help manage overtime scheduling.
  • Complete all paperwork and requirements related to work order processes, including lot history records (LHR).
  • Manage material super-market/inventory and ensure that work materials are present when needed.
  • Assist Manufacturing Supervisor and manufacturing leads with continuous improvement initiatives and communicate in a timely manner when production issues arise to ensure impact to production is minimized.
  • Guide team on approaches to identify, prioritize, communicate, and resolve production issues; lead team meetings on production-related activities, assign assemblers to production tasks, and help mentor and develop team members.
  • Provide line performance summary (daily) to Manufacturing Supervisor, production leads/manager.
  • Assist in training assemblers to operations based on documented procedures, maintaining training records for the production area, and ensuring all paperwork is signed off and complete.
  • Complete training and understand documentation needed to comply with Laborie's quality system policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to company policies in terms of punctuality and availability and conform to other policies as described in Company's employee handbook.
