About The Position

Develop, test and optimize 5/4/3/2 axis N/C programs for turning and milling for production hardware processes (i.e., machining programs, tooling, fixtures, work instructions, etc.). Re-program existing production onto new 5-axis equipment, as well as program new products. Set up and operation of machine tool equipment (both N/C and standard types to support development/production cell activities) Work to blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce production hardware. Perform in-process dimensional checks, including setting up CMM inspections. Contribute to process improvement efforts on mature hardware with similar support. Troubleshoot process issues. Create development/production planning and support revisions of production planning as appropriate for process changes. Provide direction to other skilled employees involved with development and production. Perform other related duties as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college OR associate degree with a minimum of 2 years in manufacturing experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience; All manufacturing experience must be specifically programming, machining, assembly, machine repair or inspection.
  • NC programming experience (APT, UG, or other structured systems.)
  • Siemens NX
  • Proficient in shop mathematic i.e. geometry and trigonometry, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning, and tolerances

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a CNC machine tool programmer, preferably on multi-tasking machines (turning/milling lathes), both at the machine and using CAM software
  • Experience in machining turning / turn-milling operations on superalloy components (preferably Inconel / Rene / Titanium)
  • Knowledge of Renishaw probe programming
  • Knowledge of the NX Teamcenter software.
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with Siemens NX and Productivity+ software
  • Ability to optimize tooling based on the machining strategy used
  • Ability to operate CNC turning and turn-milling machines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of measuring instruments and basic notions of metrology
  • Ability to adapt existing part programs directly at the machine by applying basic edits to the program list
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and anomalies when using CNC machines
  • Basic knowledge of geometry and trigonometry and the use of mathematical formulas useful for defining CNC machining strategies
  • Communication skills necessary for interfacing with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing technologies, quality)
