Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) is a leading refiner and recycler of precious group metals. The growing demand for low carbon and responsibly sourced products is creating growth opportunities in critical metals recycling and secondary refining, and as the world’s largest precious metals recycler, PGMS is a key player in the circular economy. The purpose of this role is to lead the development and implementation of technical and compliance related workforce competencies in our two manufacturing facilities and related areas. The role is accountable to ensure that Business L&D processes are aligned to JM Global L&D Policy to enable the business to meet EHS, Regulatory and Quality obligations for safe business operations. This role will work closely with the L&D CoE and implement best practices as described from the central group.

Requirements

  • Ideally educated to degree level in a scientific or engineering discipline with a recognized L&D qualification or equivalent experience gained in a complex business environment
  • Experience of operating as a Learning professional in regulated settings with an understanding of relevant legislation
  • Proficient in the use of Learning Management systems – Desirable

Nice To Haves

  • Level 5 CIPD Diploma in L&D Management or equivalent – Desirable

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the operational management teams across the two sites and the L&D Centre of Expertise (CoE) to develop and implement a consistent JM skills and competency strategy across JM.
  • Establish & maintain clear processes, procedures, and systems to effectively deliver and demonstrate that employees are competent to undertake the roles and tasks assigned to them.
  • Lead the creation and maintenance of competency frameworks in partnership with the L&D CoE linking to the applicable US policies and processes within each business unit, prioritizing high risk activities that may impact JM’s license to operate.
  • Responsible for reporting performance of L&D delivery and performance against established KPI’s.
  • Develop action plans based on the Learning data/reports from the Learning Systems that will ensure technical and compliance learning outcomes are effectively resourced and learning solutions implemented.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify the Technical & Compliance Learning and Development needs for their teams to align with business priorities, workforce resourcing plans and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct the appropriate learning needs analysis and develop technical learning solutions for new facilities /processes/ significant operational changes with a view to standardize the approach and provide a consistent L&D partnership to the business.
  • Ensure the site learning curricula and assignment profiles are effective and appropriate.
  • Work with the HR Digital team and the L&D Systems Specialists to ensure learning systems are configured to deliver comprehensive technical curricula to meet internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the L&D CoE to ensure alignment of approach and drive one competence model for JM.
  • Prepare for external and internal audits, providing required evidence to stakeholders to meet requests and manage expectations.
  • To take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed.
