About The Position

The Buffalo office of Lippes Mathias LLP is seeking an experienced litigation Legal Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be key to supporting the administrative functions of the group. Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of Legal Assistant experience, personal injury or malpractice experience a plus
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Accurate typing speed of 65+ wpm
  • Experience with editing, revising and drafting of legal documents
  • Ability to complete projects with little direction
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal court rules
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High accuracy rate and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to use discretion and handle confidential information
  • Ability to meet deadlines and produce high quality work products

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ProLaw preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Legal Assistant experience, personal injury or malpractice experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Prepare memoranda for opening new matters
  • Drafting, editing, and formatting of legal documents
  • Monitor and update attorney and non-attorney professional calendar(s)
  • Prepare and send out transmittal letters
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Save, print, scan, and file all transmittal documents on each file
  • File with State and Federal Courts
  • Prepare for depositions
  • Assist with discovery
  • Prepare and organize exhibits
  • Perform general office duties as required
