About The Position

The Law Office of Lena A. Clark is seeking a detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful Legal Assistant to join our Estate Planning and Probate law firm in downtown Frederick, Maryland (this is an in-office position). This full-time position will support two attorneys and an experienced Estate Planning Legal Assistant. Our legal assistants play a critical role in the firm and are trusted with meaningful responsibilities in the estate planning process. Open and close client files Draft Estate Planning documents Coordinate and schedule Estate Planning document signings Maintain attorney calendars and assist with inbox management Manage client information and maintain organized client files Support attorneys and team members with administrative and case-related tasks Obtain a Maryland Notary Public commission (required; the firm will reimburse the cost) Serve as a backup to the intake department when they are short-staffed Help keep the firm running smoothly by supporting the team wherever needed Who are we looking for? Someone who: Wants to work in the heart of downtown Frederick and build a long-term career with opportunities for growth Is highly detail-oriented with strong spelling and written communication skills Enjoys organization, checklists, and keeping systems running smoothly Can follow detailed instructions carefully Is comfortable navigating and troubleshooting Mac computers without assistance. Has a college degree. Legal experience is welcome but not required.
