We are looking for someone going into their second or third year of law school who is engaged, ready to learn, and a team player. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program at an accredited law school as a graduate or professional student, and remain academically enrolled through the internship
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong legal research skills
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under tight deadlines
  • AARP will not sponsor an employment visa for this position at this time.
  • Regular and reliable job attendance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
  • Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Responsibilities

  • Draft and revise agreements (memoranda of understanding, contracts, etc.)
  • Conduct legal research, as necessary
  • Review content for legal compliance
  • Contract analysis, as necessary
  • Draft memoranda and other documents, as necessary
  • Participate in team meetings and discussions (including client meetings, as necessary)
