About The Position

As a Legal Summer Intern (June - August) at Authentic Brands Group, you will assist the Legal Department with a variety of daily tasks and have the opportunity to research and review documents, and sit in on meetings and phone calls, in order to observe and learn foundational legal communication and negotiation skills.

Requirements

• Must currently be in law school
• Must be interested in learning about trademarks, licensing and the fashion and entertainment industries
• Must be able to on-site in ABG’s NYC office
• Must be able to work 2 days per week up to 20 hours per week
• Must have strong writing, organization and communication skills and a demonstrated interest in transactional law, with an emphasis on intellectual property law and/or the licensing of fashion/entertainment/sports brands
• Willingness to get your hands dirty and make things happen.
• Comfortability in a high-paced, collaborative environment.
• Detail oriented
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel and G Suite.
• Process-driven and constantly looking for ways to streamline and simplify complex tasks.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing, summarizing and/or assisting with the preparation and drafting of agreements relating to intellectual property licensing (with a focus on trademarks and copyrights), entertainment, fashion, marketing and social media (e.g., influencers and talent), e-commerce and general commercial matters.
• Coordinating and communicating clearly, effectively and efficiently with colleagues from Authentic’s Business Development, Brand Management and Marketing teams.
• Assisting in-house counsel with the Legal Department’s ongoing general matters as required for its day-to-day functioning (and Authentic Brands Group’s as a whole).
