Requirements

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree and current enrollment in or recent completion of an accredited advanced degree program.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in teaching within an academic setting.
  • Desire to work with undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and library staff.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Interest in working with diverse groups and supporting inclusive learning environments.

  • Experience working with underrepresented or diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in teaching and learning initiatives across Duke University Libraries, contributing to lesson plans, learning modules, research guides, and learning outcomes.
  • Investigate the impact of generative AI on undergraduate research and learning behaviors and recommend strategies for instructional integration.
  • Support outreach initiatives for graduate students and early-career research fellows.
  • Assist subject librarians in delivering instruction aligned with the undergraduate curriculum and fostering critical thinking skills.
  • Incorporate diverse resources and voices into Writing 120 instruction and related programming.
  • Design and implement outreach for the QuadEx residential program to engage sophomore and junior students.
  • Promote teaching and learning services through programs, events, blog posts, and other outreach formats.
  • Support Research and Public Services operations and special projects.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
