Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited graduate program in archival studies, public history, library/information science, or related field with archival training.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in public services in a special collections environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong customer service commitment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in special collections and/or coursework in archival theory and practice.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Access Services Section Head and collaborate closely with the Stacks Manager and the Digitization & Scanning Manager.
  • Work collaboratively on projects related to research services, material management, circulation, and digitization.
  • Assist researchers in person and remotely, providing onsite reference services at the Rubenstein Library desk.
  • Support administrative functions such as scheduling, policy updates, workflow improvements, and preparing materials for digital upload.
  • Routinely move library materials weighing up to 40 pounds.
  • Work in an environment where exposure to materials containing dust and mold is possible.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
