About The Position
Provo City is looking for high-performing, responsible individuals to join the Aquatics team in the role of lifeguard, water safety/swimming instructor, and related capacities at the Provo City Recreation Center. Civic-minded individuals interested in supporting the services provided to the residents of Provo City by performing the duties described herein are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- Be 16 years of age (or 15 with restrictions) at time of appointment.
- A current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification
- A current American Red Cross WSI Certification or equivalent AND/OR teaching swim experience (for Swim Instructor)
Nice To Haves
- Preference given to applicants with Advancing Lifesaving Certification.
Responsibilities
- Lifeguard and instruct water safety courses at the Provo Recreation Center.
- Monitor swimmers and patrons.
- Provide first aid.
- Rescue swimmers/patrons when necessary.
- Assist staff members as needed and perform other related work as required.
- Teach Red Cross sanctioned water safety and swimming classes.
- Lead water aerobics and aquatic fitness classes.
- Ensure safety of paticipants.
- Proide basic first aid or assistance as needed.
