About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused CDL Driver / Yard Operations Crew Member to support both transportation and yard operations. This position will split responsibilities approximately 50% driving local intercompany routes and 50% performing on-site yard operational duties. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, compliant transport of materials between local company locations while also supporting daily yard activities including material handling, loading/unloading, and facility organization.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A with clean driving record.
  • Current DOT medical card.
  • Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Forklift and/or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of DOT regulations and transportation safety requirements.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts and other yard equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor as required.
  • Dependable, punctual, and team oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company-owned commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required).
  • Transport materials, equipment, and supplies between company locations (local routes, home daily).
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Ensure proper load securement and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws.
  • Report vehicle maintenance needs and coordinate repairs as required.
  • Support other Lanco companies with local shipment moves as needed.
  • Load and unload materials using forklifts or other yard equipment.
  • Assist with organizing, staging, and inventorying materials in the yard.
  • Support incoming and outgoing shipments and verify material accuracy.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of yard and warehouse areas.
  • Follow all company safety standards and PPE requirements.
  • Assist operations team with equipment preparation and material handling tasks.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely movement of materials.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies.
  • Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational needs.
