We are seeking a Location Manager to lead operations at our Syracuse Rail Shuttle facility. This full-time role includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities in operational management, business management, budgeting, accounting, procurement, project management, and quality management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with sound judgment, creativity, and effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, proportions, percentages, and volume; ability to prepare and interpret spreadsheets and graphs.
  • Valid operator’s license and forklift certification required; CDL Class A with HazMat and Tanker endorsements preferred, or the ability to obtain required certifications within 60 days of employment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and agricultural experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for organizing and supervising train loading operations on day or night shifts.
  • Partner with area Location Managers to ensure adequate staffing for daily operations and train loading processes.
  • Collaborate with Grain Division employees at the facility to provide day-to-day operational support and assist in developing market plans to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Perform or lead the unloading of grain trucks, including operation of elevator legs, conveyors, dust collectors, and distributors.
  • Ensure grain bins are properly prepared prior to receiving grain, including cleaning, sweeping, and insecticide application.
  • Communicate daily with the Operations Superintendent regarding grain loading and unloading plans; coordinate the full railcar loading process to ensure cars are properly loaded, accurately weighted, graded, inspected, and certified to meet buyer requirements.
  • Perform or lead the loading and weighing of grain trucks, including operating spouts, monitoring grain flow, sweeping grain bins, cleaning boot pits, monitoring groundwater levels, and operating pumps as needed.
  • Serve as a support resource for on-site chemical and dry fertilizer sheds as needed.
  • Partner with on-site team members to ensure the grounds remain clean, safe, and well maintained.
  • Ensure all structures and equipment are maintained on a preventive maintenance schedule; coordinate necessary repairs and general maintenance of the facility and grounds.
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and compliant work environment for customers, vendors, and employees by adhering to all company safety standards and ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, state, federal, and company regulations. Identify and correct any deficiencies in equipment, machinery, structures, or processes.
