About The Position

- The Log Scaler at The Beasley Group is responsible for accurately identifying, grading, and sorting logs by species as they are delivered to ensure efficient processing at the sawmill. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and standards of the raw materials used in production. THIS IS AN HOURLY POSITION. APPROX. 50+ PER WEEK. SOME WEEKENDS ARE ANTICIPATED. OVERTIME IS REQUIRED. DAY SHIFT 6AM - 4:30 PM PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG-SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECKS CONDUCTED.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in log scaling or a related field.
• Experience operating heavy machinery, specifically log loaders, in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
• Strong knowledge of different log species and grading standards.
• Ability to accurately identify, grade, and sort logs by species.
• Proficiency in operating a log loader safely and efficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills for reporting and coordination purposes.

Responsibilities
