About The Position

Reporting to the Slitting and Shipping Supervisor, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient flow of materials and information within the organization. This role coordinates multiple aspects of the supply chain including transportation, inventory management, and communication with management and shipping associates. The Logistics Coordinator also supports general administrative functions and plays a key role in ensuring timely delivery of products, cost optimization, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role
  • strong understanding of logistics and supply chain principles including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management
  • proficient with logistics management systems and software
  • working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • highly organized and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external partners

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the management team, scheduler, and shipping associates
  • Attend production meetings and review shipping schedules, bills of lading, orders, and related records to determine shipping priorities and methods
  • Schedule all outbound shipments through the OTM system
  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries and create bills of lading for return products, storage trucks, cylinders, crates, and other materials
  • Communicate with Customer Service Representatives regarding shipment tracking, shipping and receiving dates, tolerance quantities, and related issues
  • Track shipments in transit, resolve delays or issues, and provide timely updates
  • File pack-outs and shipping documentation
  • Copy, fax, and scan documents as needed
  • Assist leadership with administrative tasks
  • Receive incoming materials and verify against purchase orders or invoices
  • Inspect received materials for damage or discrepancies and report issues to appropriate personnel
  • Store materials in designated warehouse or storeroom locations
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems
  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and reconciliations
