About The Position

The Logistics Intern is responsible for providing critical financial analysis and support to the Logistics and Customer Success team. This role involves a deep understanding of logistics operations, financial reporting, data analysis and customer service. The primary focus is on ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, variance analysis, and forecasting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Knowledge of logistics operations, including freight, warehousing, imports, and transportation is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for freight, warehousing, import, and other logistics costs.
  • Conduct variance analysis to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to forecast future costs and budgets.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required.
  • Logistics Data Analysis: Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to logistics operations.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to present insights in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data quality and reporting.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Work with the team to automate manual tasks and leverage technology to optimize workflows.
  • Receive and process customer orders, ensuring orders meet company policies relating to pricing, promotions, lead time, weight, etc.
  • Identify and resolve service issues.
  • Quickly identify the source of a problem, gather and analyze information related to the issue, and devise a solution that best meets both the company’s and the customer’s needs.
